This is a summary of reports from the Northwestern California Bird

defined in Stan Harris's " Northwestern California Birds" (3rd edition,
2005). California Bird Records Committee review species are noted with an
asterisk (*). Send reports of California Bird Record Committee Review

Northwestern California Bird Alert. One of the benefits of using this
listserv is that it saves on your long-distance phone bills by receiving
messages in your e-mail, of which typically appear within 5 minutes of the
message being called in. Messages get sent as .wav files and they come as
attachments. Broadband helps.

From Del Norte County; This evening (Friday the 20th) there were two
American White Pelicans at the mouth of Elk Creek in Crescent City in the

I don't think it is likely that they will stay around. Alan Barron and

Earlier in the day there was a Say's Phoebe at the Crescent City airport on
the fence that runs South?? along the buildings. There was a Northern
Mockingbird on Esta Lane, the same spot of last year's successful breeding,
the bright pink house, and a Northern Shrike was in the Pacific Shores,
close to the narrows.
The gull flocks around the Alexandre Dairy had several Glaucous Gulls, with
one 1st cycle Glaucous Gull that was tiny, the size of a Thayer's, with very
white irises. There were also two Nelson's Gulls and many bleached white
primaried Glaucous-winged and Thayer's Gulls around.

seems very early (Lucas Brugg).
