This is the Chicago Audubon Society bird report for Tuesday, April 
22, 2008 at 11:55pm.

Spring migration is well underway in the Chicago area.  At least 16 
species of warblers have been seen already, including YELLOW-RUMPED, 
PALM, HOODED, ORANGE-CROWNED, both WATERTHRUSHES, OVENBIRD, 
NASHVILLE, PINE, BLACK-AND-WHITE, BLACKPOLL, PARULA, BLUE-WINGED, 
BLACK-THROATED GREEN, and YELLOW-THROATED and many PROTHONOTARIES.

The PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS were seen the last week at Conkey Woods, 
Eggers Woods, McClaughry Springs, LaBagh Woods, Lyman Woods, the 
Jarvis Bird Sanctuary, in a Glen Ellyn backyard, and two were at Wooded Isle.

YELLOW RAILS were seen April 20th at Springbrook Prairie and April 
18th at Whalon Lake.

An EARED GREBE and LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE were also at Whalon Lake last week.

Two RED-THROATED LOONS were at Illinois Beach State Park yesterday, 
and three were there on the 19th.  BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS were at 
Illinois Beach today, and a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was back at the 
lodge at Illinois Beach yesterday.

Other YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS were seen recently at Eggers Woods, 
Camp Sagawau, and at the Morton Arboretum.

Twelve SMITH'S LONGSPURS were seen yesterday in Kane County at the 
Sauer Family Prairie south of Kaneville at the corner of Harter and 
Lasher Roads.

A WHITE PELICAN was seen April 20th at Lake Calumet's Harborside Golf Course.

Two MOCKINGBIRDS, two OSPREY, and an EASTERN KINGBIRD were at Bergman 
Slough on April 20th.

A RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was seen yesterday in Naperville.

An UPLAND SANDPIPER was seen today at the Orland Grasslands.

LARK SPARROWS were seen recently the last week in Lincolnwood, at 
Northerly Island, and at Vollmer Road.

Seen at Montrose the last week were MERLIN, LONG-EARED OWL, HOODED 
WARBLER, AMERICAN BITTERN, and LE CONTE'S and HENSLOW'S SPARROWS.

LITTLE BLUE HERONS were reported April 21st at Lake Arlington and 
April 15th at Wolf Lake.

A BALD EAGLE was reported at Baker's Lake on April 21st.

Two TRUMPETER SWANS are being seen at Lake Katherine.

WHOOPING CRANES were seen last week at Middlefork Savanna and near Woodstock.

A EUROPEAN GOLDFINCH was at a feeder last week in Evanston.
